The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) have entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the goal of reforming and rehabilitating persons deprived of liberty (PDLs). This collaborative initiative was formalized on a Monday, marking a significant stride towards enhancing the well-being and character of individuals within the correctional system.

According to a statement from BuCor, PDLs will benefit from social and civic services provided by the faculty members, staff, and students of DLSZ. The MOA was signed by BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. and DLSZ Senior Vice President Rafael Javier Reloza at the New Bilibid Prison Compound. Director General Catapang expressed optimism about the program's potential impact, stating, "This program will go a long way because it will inculcate values in life that it doesn't pay to commit crime and involves spiritual values needed by our PDLs being battered by angels and demons while inside our corrections facilities."
